We are back from our 'gap year" living overseas, have rejuvenated the roasting business and made a new website,  <a href=http://www.arafuracoffee.com.au>Arafura Coffee</a>

The Izzo is back in service pumping out nice shots and I got the Caravel going this week for those god shot espressos!

NZ -> Turkey -> Germany -> Switzerland-> Denmark -> Switzerland -> Italy -> Netherlands -> Greece -> Cyprus. Lots of time staying with friends in smaller towns. The story is laid out on my blog for anyone more interested in the journey! (see if I can get this link correct!) Our Blog.

It's a typical Compare's question - The answer we all want to hear goes something like this -  'There were some outstanding coffees over in Europe .. only the best I've had have been in Australia. Melbourne is truly the Coffee Capital of the World' <huge applause>  :thumb:

Sorry, I am going to disappoint straight up, never found much decent coffee in Melbourne, a proliferation of under roasted, acidic, 3rd wave hipster rubbish! (that should draw a contract on my life at least, if not a full blown jihad!) Of course, in Europe there is no competition, Italia reigns supreme. When we drove down to Italia from Switzerland, we wound our way down the susten pass in the hire car and as soon as we got across the border we pulled into the first servo and grabbed a couple of espressos to drink at the counter - best coffees in the previous 10 months of travelling! Everywhere in Italy its the same, €1 for a great espresso. Also found one or two good cafes in NZ, they were both better than anything I have had in Melbourne or Sydney.
