After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Advice on selling a machine

edited January 1970 in Espresso Machines
Hi guys,

Great forum here. I've got a four year old La Nuova Era Cuadra. Been really happy with the machine. But I don't drink coffee anymore. In fact, caffeine free. I used to be a 'three double-espressos first thing in the morning' kind of guy, but I grew more and more sensitive to it (nervous, sleeplessness etc) to the extent that I can't drink it anymore  :'(

So I'm going to sell my baby. Any advice on what I should do to sell it? I'll give it a great clean. Anything else I need to do? And is gumtree suitable, or are there better places to sell it?

Thanks for the advice.

  • Hi mate and welcome. I kinda fear that you're in the wrong place given your first post may be your last.  Have you considered decaf?  Seriously, there's lots of great decaf coffees out there not to mention the ability of your machine to make hot chocolates, chai etc.  if you were selling the Cuadra to upgade it now that would bode well on a coffee forum for eliciting advice especially as that model isn't held in high esteem by the hobbiests that frequent these forums.  They don't get great resale I'm afraid if eBay prices are anything to go by so why not keep it if you like it and hit us up for a jolly good decaf?? WELCOME and good luck!
