Being a old guy with some lung damage,tradie in the building game asbestos and mica plus dust enviroments,the smoke from roasting upsets my lungs. I use a gas filtering face mask but of late this is not enough.My roast station is a home made bench with the bean cooler,KKTO and raised table for my dmm, tablet,and sundry items.I have now added a 200mm commercial exhaust to extract the harmful gasses away from my roasting station so on with my favourite hobby

We had one at work for many years....called it the cessna, and it worked a treat ! And yes it would have been my simple suggestion to use a fan to work the fumes/smoke so they never get to the operator. I've done it on occasions, but certainly cant argue with an extractor fan to do a similar job  And may I say I think its a great thing to do even for people that dont have respiratory problems....

Instead of a Cessna I added a 200mm inline exhaust system to my modded roast table,works a treat. Just completed exhausting lung function tests and am elegible for oxygen treatment, will make living easier. Diagnosis, yet to be fully verified, is asbestosis, but will be around to roast many kilos of great greens.

Barry I think a filtered exhaust is the go at the retirement village So you are on the right track with this one  :thumb: KK
