After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Crappy coffee ad

TAKE A LOOK AT THIS!

One of the things you probably don't know is that before starting this unpaid job for the coffee industry, your humble admin. used to work in the advertising industry. It doesn't take an advertising professional however, to work out that this has got to be one of the worst ads ever, let alone one of the worst coffee ads....

It's on the 'Events' page of Cafescene (our sister industry site), but you can take a look if you click here: http://www.cremamagazine.com.au/page/picsfun_stuff.html(Note: it may take a few seconds to load).

For example: 'And just like a good mouth-to-mouth resuscitation or a good high speed car chase, we are left gasping for breath'...give me a break!

  • Anybody notice that the coffee mugs used by the two geeks in the ad feature shows which starred David Hasselhof? Oh ja, made in Germany. No wonder they need coffee to get through watching the shows!  :P
  • Hi Admin - took a while to load, but you're right; it really is amazingly bad! -L
  • The bad quality is to be expected... the advertising industry as a whole has really gone downhill over recent times. One would think that they come up with their ideas without any alternative assistance. I think it could be mainly due to those melodramatic Nescafe adds that came out some years ago...
  • If you get the chance - take a look on our PICS/Fun stuff page [see menu bar on Left, or click here: http://cremamagazine.sitesuite.ws/page/picsfun_stuff.html]. Have posted the ad for a competition in the Financial Review which is probably worth a look (- pic. courtesy Lars). -Admin.
