NZ vs Australian coffee

Is Australia losing the in the trans-Tasman rivalry in one as-yet untapped area? Recently Matthew Algie the head of one of the largest independent coffee companies in the UK was quoted lauding NZ as having probably the best espresso coffee in the world.

Now the supposed executive director of the world barista championships, Instaurator no less (yes, that's his name, at least since he changed it by deed poll from 'Will Forsyth') - an Australian, has joined in the praise for our Kiwi cousins.

Judging at NZ's first Coffee Festival and Awards in Taupo last weekend, he was quoted as saying "I think the coffees we've had have been better and more consistent than the coffees we've had in Australia".

So there you go...

Hi Admin - maybe we could have a competition to see how many creative variations we can find of Mr Instaurator - we've already had the Restaurator above; if he burns his coffee, how about the Incinerator? L

Actually Lars, I do understand that said gentleman was involved in training at one stage, during which time he carried the nickname 'instructorator' however, in answer to your question, I think it should remain as a 'Bar open at 3.00pm' -type of thing... Cheers Admin
