After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Crema T shirts

edited January 1970 in Off-topic
Hi guys - am just thinking of getting some black T-shirts embroidered with Crema... am thinking of getting a pretty high quality shirt and getting Crema embroidered in white on the left chest area [fairly small and 'classy'].

Am just trying to get a sense of what interest there might be - thinking we would sell them to the general public for $30 but $25 for forum members - can you let me know your interest and whether you think this is a good idea? [will try and get a pic loaded of a demo shirt to see what you think]...

any thoughts/comments - please post on this thread.

cheers

-A

  • make mine large and in a dark colour to absorb stains while I'm working!
  • Hi Ash, if you're looking at a more 'upmarket/classy' design with the embroidery, how about a polo shirt, rather than a t-shirt? I appreciate that they would cost more, but I think that they would make for a nicer finished product. Just a thought. I'd be interested as well.
  • I'll be in for an polo ;D
  • Hi guys - am happy to get the polo done; guess I was thinking the T-shirt was more appropriate as that's what a barista is more likely to wear [& personally i see polo as an older person's shirt]. However, if that's the general consensus, will get onto the supplier for their best polo offering! -A PS ACG not sure what you were on when you made your comment - which colour specifically [darker than black] were you thinking of :o ;D
  • black is fine - lighter colours such as white etc tend to get coffee / chocolate on them when i'm working (happens when you make 600 plus coffees per day!) and large is my size!  I'd personally prefer a t-shirt but I'd be interested in looking at a mock-up of a polo. Given that we're heading into summer, though, the polo might not get much of a workout until next winter, and you can wear a t-shirt all year round!
  • I think it is a great idea. I live in the United States and would be more than happy to order one. Will you be able to ship overseas?
  • Hi Rellwood - postage will be a bit more, but yes, will definitely be able to ship to the US. They will be great shirts - have been trying to find a reasonably young person to model them on before I post up a pic - I swim a bit, but am worried that a pic of me wearing one just wouldn't do it justice!! -A ;D
  • Polo shirts are for older people?  Are you serious?  I only own a few, but until recently, polo shirts(especially Industrie) were a hot look for young guys.  I see a lot of baristas wearing short sleeve shirts over tshirts though.   If design was good, I would consider one(whether tshirt or polo).  You could maybe have a comp to win one for new subscribers to 1 yr of Crema magazine, or first 10 subscribers get one, or something like that.       If the actual shirt quality lacks, I would avoid it.  The design would need to be funky as well.
  • I agree, if the design was not just that genreic plain shirt with a logo and instead something a bit more funky i'd prob get one.
  • Hi guys - have loaded a pic of the intended T-shirt on Pics/Fun stuff. It's not a fancy 'industry' design - have focussed instead on a good quality cotton with embroidered logo [so it won't fade]. Intention is that it's a quality 100% cotton item that sells for around $30 [as I mentioned $25 plus postage for forum members] not a trendy fashion shirt!! Click on: http://cremamagazine.sitesuite.ws/page/picsfun_stuff.html to go straight to link - let me know if interested! cheers -A
  • Looking good, please update with price and how to order when its ready. Thanks, rellwood
  • Hi Rellwood - no problem - am getting a limited run done of 10xLarge and 10 XL. Unlike most shirts, they seem to be fairly accurate in sizing [ie not too small!]. Price to forum members A$25 + postage - in Australia that means +$4 to around $8 [for Western Australia]; unfortunately for the US, it will probably add around $14. Ordering by e-mail [including credit card details] to [email protected] cheers -A
  • Hi Admin - I'd definitely like on e of the straight T's in a large - keep an eye out for my e-mail. dR
  • Not sure exactly what I was expecting, but just had a look and........nah
  • No probs re: shirts - thought it would be a nice idea, but looks like there's not enough interest... am quite happy to keep the prototype! -A
  • Are the T shirts avialable for order yet?
  • Hi Rob - sorry mate - looks like there wasn't a huge amount of interest - have sent you a personal e-mail. cheers A
  • Any chance of a new design?  You could even look at having a comp with someone designing the shirt.  I would have more interest in purchasing one if it had a design instead of just the word 'crema'.  Just a thought, Matt
