After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Aroma Sydney 2008

edited January 1970 in Off-topic
Hi guys - we're looking at attending this year's Aroma Festival and thought I'd offer our tent as a meeting place for forum members... we're often busy selling mags to customers, but it's good to have a central mtg spot, and we're always keen to stop and talk if we're not busy.

Reminder: 6th July at Sydney's The Rocks - our tent will be down near Circular Quay!

  • Hi Admin... no problem, it was a fun day and a great chance to chat with a lot of Crema magazine readers. What a day!  The thousands of people that come out to this event is just a testament to how important coffee has become in our lifestyle. As my wife and I approached The Rocks at 10am we could already see the coffee lines forming.  Grinders humming and thwacking, steam-wands hissing and great coffee as far as the eyes could see... yes, it was going to be a great day  :) Crowds started to come in droves shortly after and in a matter of minutes we quickly found ourselves fighting the queues to get to the front of the stands for some tasting.  Must say one of my personal favorites was a guatemalan organic SO and the huehuetenango from the Mayan stand.  The chilli, cinnamon and sesame choc-coated beans were delish. Topped off with fantastic food and perfect weather, all in all a great day indeed.  Look forward to the pics!
  • Hi all, article already posted online and for more pics, click through to the Gallery. By the way, if anyone has any pics from the day, or any other coffee pics for that matter - send them through - they might just end up in the Gallery too, with credit of course
  • [glow]A Traders Perspective.[/glow] We left our showroom at lunchtime on Saturday after cleaning it out of some really nice pieces of kit to take to Aroma with us, and drove to Sydney. Got to the Terminal Building at Circular Quay sometime between 3.30 and 4 pm. There was some heavy traffic in the city and it doesnt help when you dont go there often and dont know it very well. The first & only hiccup of the arvo was when the security people wouldnt let us on site to unload because we didnt have vehicle passes. Someone went to find the Aroma Fest organiser, lucky she wasnt too far away (many thanks Astrid). She gave us the passes and on we went. We spent the next couple of hours or more unloading and setting up, the Terminal room organiser and the electricians getting power to our stand were extremely helpful. We left sometime between 6.30 and
  • From a punters point of view  :P I thought this year there were more people that arrived for the event early. I've always wondered how much coffee and milke is actually used for this event??? Could be a good article to ruin in Crema????
