After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Maximising Profits

edited January 1970 in Have your say
Well as a silent observer I've noticed that alot of people that contribute to the forums are trade. Bearing that in mind besides food is there anything else that can be done to maximise profits?

  • I'm not quite sure what you mean, but here's my 2 cents worth. Hire GOOD (as in the best possible) staff. They WILL make or break your business; Value add by offering as many periferal / related items of stock as can be associated with your primary product/s; Offer quality; Back up your quality with great service; Build relationships with your clients; Build your brand name / business awareness in the market place. Am I on the right track here?
  • You must work at starbucks, you forgot that you have to start by serving great espresso..
  • Huh? Was this not a legit question, requiring a "proper like"  kind of reply? Incidentally, I am mortally wounded by the inference that I must simply "work for" a particular business...I am in fact, aspiring to be the managing director of world wide operations. The nerve of some people!
  • Tall poppy syndrome fresh, you go ahead and conquer the world. Its always the little people trying to make you see their reality but don't be fooled about your own reality Constant and organised scrutiny of all aspects of the operation wiil secure greater margins, what is the key to making money? Quality? It should be. exception Starbucks depends what you want. I believe it is important to have clear goals no matter how insane and secure each step throughly before moving on and also knowing when to stop (Starbucks!) If you can dream it you can do it.
  • Re: "Constant and organised scrutiny of all aspects of the operation wiil secure greater margins" Well said.
  • Yea put up your prices ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :-*
