After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

crema magazine feedback

edited January 1970 in Have your say
well the crema magazine for me, is little more than a travel magazine with very little in the text that is challenging for trade readers. Admin who is your target?

  • You got it in one Jan - we're a consumer magazine - that's why we're in newsagents! If you're looking for a pure trade magazine, I think there's one called Bean Scene. -A :o
  • Admin We enjoy our Crema mag and look forward to receiving it. However, a comment if I may, it is called Crema, to me Crema is related to coffee, I would prefer to see the coffee articles more towards the front. Having travelled and being also involved in the wine industry, I enjoy the deviation away from coffee making etc. Keep up the great work. JD
  • PS Is this the Jan from the YP's  ???
  • Sorry  :( Should have said Is this the Jan from the Yellow Pages TV commercial :-X
  • Coffee trade mags can be repetitive. Take a look at Coffee & Tea. How much can you write about "the trade"? If you buy them for long enough periods, you see the stories coming back around. Personally, I am prepared to stick me neck out and say that I think Crema has been improving with every issue, and IT IS a consumer product not a trade product. In addition if you only fill it with coffee stuff it would be a pretty dry argument, and wouldn't last long. It needs the nice padding to make it interesting for the consumers, and we are lucky to have roving "reporters" who are willing to send articles and great photos back for the editor to include. Keep up the good work Admin. FC. Advertiser in and supporter of Crema magazine.
  • Hi 'Jan' - there seems to be a slight fault in your logic.

Hi I'm wondering about this too .. especially the target bit.. although the replies are tending towards Jan herself being the new (or old .. as in old thread) target. Rather than articles featuring say, a Cafe in Amsterdam .. I would have thought what coffee lovers are interested in .. and talking about in the local Aussie scene would be interesting and relevant. Here's an example - wonder what issues members on the Crema forum have been talking about .. I'll bet it wasn't their experience when visiting that Cafe in Amsterdam on their last trip over to Europe? Maybe I'm missing something? I did enjoy the how to make a cannoli article though .. nice one  :thumb: I was viewing a Crema Magazine thread about an online subscription .. and was interested, only the 'interest' was left wanting. Cheers .. and have a nice coffee day  :coffee2: ps. This is constructive feedback, and my opinion only .. it is not intended to offend anyone.  :)
  • Hi mate, wow! that's a long time between drinks, as they say ... previous post in 2004! no probs with the feedback; there are a couple of true 'trade mags' in Australia already, and as I've explained on various threads elsewhere, our positioning is more of a [dare I say it] coffee table mag, pretty much summed up as the: 'Gourmet Traveller of the coffee world'. However that's all a little irrelevant now, as since my move to Adelaide, we've struggled to maintain our advertiser base, and without revenue [and without the resources of a larger publishing group, like B/Scene], have had to put the printed version on hold for some time now.
