After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
I have listened to some pretty amazing figures and facts about water and it's realtionship with coffee extraction. There is a great tape aroudn from the last SCAA conference on water. It's kinda scary how the same coffee can taste completely different with various water profiles and you wonder if alot of the time if it is in fact the water quality/profile that brings people to comment on tastes as much as the coffee itself!
Whilst being familiar with water filter types and how/when to change them, does anyone know what the real nasties are in water that will affect taste in a big way? I have heard high Chorline levels is particularly bad. Is there readily avaible information about the water in your area/state? Most filters around are simply sediment filters and it's only an extra $5 or so to have a carbon filter as well. I know I'd pay my $40 for the top of the line filtration system after what I now know about water, particulary if I lived in Perth or Adelaide (or even worse the US!)
