After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Brisbane Coffee Lovers

Hey y'all. Would like to know if any other members hail from the sunshine state and would be interested in chatting about any quality places to visit :). New to brisbane and only really know about the coffee I use at work.

  • hi there, I am in QLD too. Just north of the city on the sunny coast. Recommended place to visit in brisbane would be Naked Coffee in Elizabeth Arcade. John is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the finer points of espresso and if you havent seen a naked portafilter before it will blow you away. P.S. I gather you use merlo beans at work?
  • Cool, thanks for the tip. And, yeah, I work for Bar Merlo at the University of Queensland in Saint Lucia.
  • I know your after good coffee in Brisbane but if your heading up to the sunshine coast, call in to "Pioneer Roastery" across the road from the Ginger Factory. Great personal service, Great coffee. Greg.
  • You could try Bulimba Bean in Oxford St.  They use their own roasts and I have not had a bad coffee there yet.
  • Thanks for the kind words jason... im always happy to have a chat... sometimes i even let people play on my new baby... (la marzocco 3 grp)!
  • Hi there, have a look at that small beach just south of noosa heads; there is a small block of shops just off the beach that has it's own coffee roaster/shop there....the coffee is so good...they roast daily....you can't get fresher then that...enjoy... Regards MerloLuva
  • Hi MerloLuvur, That place is fresh but consider quality as well. Save yourself the $3 and come up to Yandina for excellent quality.
