Custom Blends

I just designed a blend with the boys at C4 coffee to use in my cafe. I was sick of the generic crap that Melbourne is in festered with so i hunted down these guys and was able to put my own branding on the bag. I think its a pretty smart idea and totally support this concept. i was able to chose the single origin beans and style of roast that i wanted which no other coffee company would let me do. now i have a blend that you can only get in my cafe and to a profile that suits my customers. this is the future of coffee and anyone who is doing this type of thing both cafe and roasters should be supported by all of you coffee drinkers out there.

Is anyone else out there doing this kind of thing in their cafe?

I do this for a few customers. Not only does the customer benifit by having their own taste and branding, but it is the reason I roast. To find something great and different with every new blend.

I don't use a custom blend, but I am using a single origin coffee from Papa New Guinea, which also happens to be FairTrade, but I chose this single origin coffee after much experimentation with different blends and single origin coffees (it pours exceptionally well for reasons I am not sure of), and based upon customer feedback The response has been fantastic it it gives me an angle in the market place, something a little different to what the other guy is doing, and customers love to chat about it. I also feature a different single origin coffee as a rotating special every couple of weeks, just to keep my regulars on their toes. So far so good. ACG
