After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Anything I need to know about Nuova Simonelli Musica?

edited January 1970 in Espresso Machines
I'm off to a friend's place tomorrow whose husband has a Musica. Unfortunately her hubby won't be there and she refuses to learn how to drive the machine, so I've been told in no uncertain terms that I'll be making the coffee tomorrow.

I've never used an HX machine before, so I'm unsure as to what quirks or precautions I need to take to not destroy the machine or otherwise entirely fail to make coffee.

HEEEELLLPPP!!! :D

:stir   :o :o

That and use the double basket for each extraction - and forget about the single entirely !
  • I realised I've made an assumption - the Musica is an HX, right? So I can brew and stretch milk at the same time? And there's no need to prime the boiler?
  • You got it!  Used one, used em all effectively.  Just no need to prime the boiler or hit a switch to wait for steam.  When I first got my splendor I used to turn the steam on every time I walked by  ::)  I called it the Silvia Syndrome  :D
  • That can't have ended well!

HX owners I've discovered have the cleanest benches.

Ive learnt that after 1 day with the BZ
  • Friend had to cancel. :( Was really looking forward to playing.
  • There's one owing real cheap on the Bay... Free delivery also.  It's an interesting looking machine especially the one that lights up.
  • My friend apparently got a very good deal on theirs. Her hubby convinced a few friends they needed one and organized a group buy.

At about $1800 as per the other ones he has sold... Not a bad $ but ?
But look at the Oscar at under $1K.... including delivery.  That machine is a mod or two away from a serious category killer... surely...

Can ya include a link  :pan  It's not agents the rules here, to mention E-Bay or the have something FS here or else where.
Agents rules... Mr Anderson?  No, we here at Crema chose the correct pill.... the other was a little bitter to swallow.
