After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Movember - any one joining in

edited January 1970 in Off-topic
Movember - can we remind our members about Movember - any participants besides moi?

Cheers,

  • Can do better than that let's start a thread  :) Currently fully bearded and beards without Mo's are even more weird  ;)

Must be a youngster, just wait, eventually you will. Ears, nose, everywhere really except on the top of your head. Thought you were one of those hirsute mediterranean types.

  • Here tis, http://au.movember.com/ I shaved my beard of 23 years and my family screamed "too much flesh dad!!!" I'll try for a Merv Hughes impersonation. :coffee2:
  • Merv Hughes? As a non-aussie I suspect he is world famous in Aus, but the name means nothing to me. Any suggestions? Pencil, Chevron, Dali, Fu Manchu, handlebar...? I'm tempted by a pencil or a petit handlebar
  • I did a head shave earlier this year for the children's oncology ward at the RBH through work. I am keen for Beard-vember but my wife is thinking once a year is plenty.  She is heavily pregnant so her wish is my command.... perhaps... >:D
  • Here tis,... It's Movember and time to focus on men's health. To show my commitment, I'm donating my face to the cause by growing a moustache for the entire month of November, and need your support. My Mo will spark conversations, and no doubt generate some laughs; all in the name of raising vital awareness and funds for prostate cancer and male depression. Why am I so passionate about men's health? *1 in 9 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime *This year 20,000 new cases of the disease will be diagnosed *1 in 8 men will experience depression in their lifetime I'm asking you to support my Movember campaign by making a donation by either: *Donating online at: http://www.movember.com/m/1456798 *Writing a cheque payable to 'Movember', referencing my Registration ID: 1456798 and mailing it to: Movember, PO Box 60, East Melbourne, VIC, 8002 If you'd like to find out more about the type of work you'd be helping to fund by supporting Movember, take a look at the Programs We Fund section on the Movember website: http://au.movember.com/about Thank you so much  in advance for supporting my efforts to change the face of men's health. • I'll be a pain and remind you once more ( the temptation to use "again" was suppressed ) - lets look after ourselves guys and look out for each other - a problem shared is a problem halved.. Go well.
  • I missed this thread, I am movembering as well. As someone who has been touched by the black dog I know how important it is to talk about your health and do something about it. Get in and support the hairy lip brigade. Brett
  • Movember is going well for me too.
