After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

    Just finished my festive season swap bean roast & have just returned from the post office The lucky recipient should receive a 700gr aromatic parcel with a probable delivery on Monday (yes its more than was agreed to but did 3 back to back roasts so I added a little extra) Seasons Greetings KK

    Okay... freaky but fabulous!  4 glorious smelling bags of coffee have arrived just now at my doorstep.  Bags A - D roasted on the 22/11 from a wonderful benefactor from Grovedale in Victoria.  Oh my, you generous over-achiever you!  I'm all excited with Christmas cheer.  So many thanks... I'll post as I enjoy. Thank you!

    Bummer, i just received an order today for some CoE coffees we are roasting on Sunday, but alas I've sent my pack off to my swap buddy already - else they may have got some tasty treats being leftovers Sunday afternoon's Honduras, Guatemala and Brazil CoE's.

    Only 112%.  It's a concentrated version of MM called M&Mmmm.  Seriously... give em a try and don't hold back, unless you not like them in which case lie through your teeth.  :rofl:  I was tickled pink to get you in the draw Nic!  Especially given your temp adjustment capabilities.

    Mine will be all roasted this afternoon and resting, so if someone doesn't have theirs by the end of the week know that they are coming, and yes we'll all know who by the end of the week I'm sure, I know everyone else is sending theirs straight after roasting and the resting period happens with the receiver but because I do mine differently I was wanting the person to experience the whole of my procedure and get feedback on it maybe. I hope I haven't ruined the whole swap by being so pedantic and obsessive, I promise I won't be like this next year  :angel:

    So a huge thank you to my person... Come on... Who are you.  Bag 3 as a double piccolo latte was so lemon and citrus that I worried that the milk would curdle.  PNG bean reasonably light roast??? Bag 1 is a bit of a surprise package.  Fabulous Guava notes from this light and slightly uneven looking roast predominate a smooth easy drinking double ristretto.  Mouthfeel is surprisingly thin despite the pour making this a fabulously far too easy to quaff short black. What fun thank you so much!

    I've just had a great chat with my bean supplier and what was also great, the chat feature worked on the ipad2. I've just had bag 4 as a Vietnamese coffee and wow... Rockmelon surprise.  This was unlike any Robusta based Vietnamese coffee I've ever had. Delicious!  I have a conducting gig tonight and thanks to my generous benefactor I am sooo ready... ZING!

    Good to hear you're enjoying the roasts Brett!  I must admit, I played around with my normal method (roast to few snaps of 2C and then dump) just to mix it up and wasn't sure what  the results would be like.  I'm still learning heaps about roasting but it's good to know I'm not producing undrinkable stuff  :D For the record, Bag A was a Mocha Java of 50% Sulawesi and 50% Harrar.  Bag C was from Burundi and is a bit Yirg like in character (although I roasted this lighter than normal so maybe some of the citrus is underroast??).  Bag D is a Kenyan bean and Bag C I'll reveal after Brett's tasted it!

    I finally got to have my first cup of Bretts coffee, the bag from the Behmor, I seriously don't think I've ever tasted so much chocolate in a coffee before, it's fantastic :)

    Even though not everyone has even tasted/ received the beans yet, so far, this has gone exceptionally well as far as I can tell. I can see this becoming something we all do a few times a year. It's certainly opening the eyes of a few people on the massive variances on what we all deem to be "coffee" :) . Maybe plan for an easter swap as a follow up?

    Completely agree Richard, now that the pressure of the first one is off I'd really enjoy roasting for others again and tasting others coffee :D

    Instructions say not to touch for at least another day. I'll be waiting until thursday or possibly friday to crack them (I've got visitors at the moment, and don't feel like sharing). I'll start on the columbian I think.

    yep way to late mp, but send them to me anyway  :rofl: there will definitely be more happening though :) Brett, don't you love that when someone can taste what you taste.  I think I've finally got the machine doing what AM says it needs to :P and it's just chocolate all round, can't wait to try some of my beans now as well and see what difference is in them, never know I might get pineapple :D
