After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

On a list of things I won't be asking Santa for this Christmas is one of these. Take all the bad of a fully auto machine link it to your favourite I-Brick device style it nice and cleanly and you have a truly overpriced underperforming yuppie toy.

    I have to admit I love the concept, it's groovy :) Definitely a yuppy toy for people that just want to press buttons :)

    Saw this on Wired the other day and must admit that I thought it's looks were to die for!  Especially in that particular house with minimalist decor.  I imagine however that it costs eleventy billion dollars to buy and twice that for maintenance.

    I saw it at the launch in Milano in October, where it was billed as being just the ticket for environments where space on top of the bench top is at a premium. In my usual way, I annunciated the first thought that sprang to mind and said......"ok...due to lack of space on the benchtop you put it inside the cupboard underneath........so, what do you do with the stuff you used to keep in the cupboard that nolonger fits because you put a coffee machine in there?...."  :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: Forever the practical one. Then they demoed the I-app thing and made me feel left out as I dont do I-stuff. :D Make no mistake, some sections of the community will lap it up and if it does a good job and is RELIABLE in service, it will go well, but only time will tell. A.

    Hi Attilio, Any ideas of a ball-park price AND, did you get to sample a brew?  I'm still enjoying your Diadema DB so am not looking to upgrade just yet  :rofl:  just interested for the sake of reaffirmed smugness  :thumb:

    I wouldn't want to be the one cleaning it... those long lines (especially the milk one) would get pretty grotty in no time at all

    Where does the milk come from?  Do they have a little mini cow under there or something? I can imagine this would be good for office use,  but for home use, it's never going to work.

    Stop nitpicking. It looks seriously cool, keeps counter top uncluttered and from my brief scan  of the bullet headings, uses magic to achieve its exquisite results. Presumably magic is how it keeps itself clean. If it only roasted too, I could use one. No roasting time before xmas now   :'( :'( :coffee:

    yes black magic, and it does have cleaning cycles designed to cope with the design, and there is a milk cooler underbench. The coffee was on par with good automatic espresso style, as was the milk coffee. It isnt yet released (or maybe it is but not yet in Australia that I know of) and I would expect it to retail in the region above 10 thou but that is only an educated guess. Just like all the gadgets in the bond movies of the sixties, this is a foretelling of the future and should be taken seriously. In the future you could see it popping up in hundreds of project homes & apartment buildings..... I still want to know what you do with the stuff you have to turf out of the cupboard????? :doh:
