After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
Email them to me. PM for address or my first name @ my last name .net - I'll upload for you to my webspace (as I have done with those ones) if you want.
Dont tempt me AM. You're to blame. You set the challenge, now I'm hooked. Thought the "tamper docking station" would be best to perfect first given the differences in PF's although I'm working on a generic design for them too. When I can get the production time from start to finish down a bit more I'll be happier although its pretty good at the moment.
Not wanting to sound petty but I made one of these blocks almost 10 years ago and have been using ever since, I introduced it on coffee snobs about 2 years back http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1259976500/10#10 Credit where credit is due.
Juanjo has some other great stuff and his man focus was in Knives... He has done some great work and you can find plenty if you go searching... He sent me further details on his tamp station and custom Knock box but I misplaced them, then again it is the concept that counts. AND KK has has always been aware that I have mentioned and referenced Juanjo in many a post...
I have those photos AM And yes I also like his design KK
Did you see that massive ironbark log in my front yard AM. Probably not but its about 500 mm in diametre and has just the crotch you are after. Bit big for the lathe though  . Weighs about 200 kg

Nah he needs the exercise Being AM he will use a pulley system :stir KK
Just being picky here, but make it double width and put in a stand for the tamper - you have a winner. It even has space for p/f spouts of all varieties I have seen (for them as don't go around naked). Nice finish! Is it just me, or has the number of posts gone up recently?
Just you  Ya, I put up some options for at least 12 different layouts... But all include a Tamp station  Like a little convey belt; two tamping stations and a tamp stand in a row... Then he just needs to build in a knock box  OH and all on a wooden base with a spill tray that will also take the grinder... Maybe just a nice thick wooden board that will take a grinder at the back, catch grinds and have a tamp station and tamp stand built in :thumb: Come on D: Just think how neat your bench would look then... Even the wife might be impressed.. You could get lucky Stop it AM :pan
Funnily enough, I've been working a little design for exactly that purpose. Might've even mentioned it to Derrilex or Brett at the cupping.
I have started to cut the sections of the industrial rubberised cork for laminating They are 6 x 5mm = 30mm thick and each section is 120mm x 110 mm Once that is done I will cut precise holes in each individual piece for my PF then laminate it If I need a little more thickness then I can cut a couple more pieces and add them on the base KK
