After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Anyone come across these guys? P & R Raineri?

I friend sent me a kilo of beans with this label, no roast date and very little aroma when air is forced out of the one-way seal.

    Update: due to toiletries training the young bloke before heading back to work I haven't had time to roast. So it was with great trepidation that I opened the P& R Raineri. As I did a great waft of aroma washed out of the bag, giving me hope that it wouldn't be a complete washout. The beans ground a little lighter and fluffier than I was expecting, making for a slight up-dosing on the VST basket. As KK has pointed out before, the Bezzera's are a bit sensitive to dose and you generally need to go lower rather than risk overdosing. As it turned out this is the bean that you can't stuff up. Every shot from the very first has resulted in tight, thick ristrettos with a medium body and nice overall balance and the right amount of brightness for me. I'd have no problems getting more of these.

    Well that was a twist I wasn't expecting.  I too have had my own surprise story with a bag of Amarti beans thrown in with the grinder I purchased on behalf of my cousin.  They were very nice.  One day this will be the norm... No!?!
