After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Panama Hacienda La Esmerelda

edited January 1970 in Roasted Beans or Blends
I purchased this from Bean Green on a whim a few months ago but have been waiting for some free time to pay special attention to the roast.

It was worth it.

I cracked the bag at five days and whole good, it wasn't great - my wife liked it but not as much as her special CSI blend.

Now at day 7 it's exquisite. Full bodied, with choc tones it still has a clean ad distinct taste quite separate from the slight muddiness I've come to expect for choc-rich brews.

Jus is now raving about it too.

Roasted at the same time as my CSI blend, it requires a much coarser setting on the grinder - CSI was on the tightest grind setting, this is four full notches coarser, about halfway through the Smart Grinder's espresso range.

10/10 - would buy again.

  • 550 g of Col Pitalito Supremo. Been a while since I took a pic of the hybrid in action. Highlights the, dare I say, superior vision over the standard model  :D

  • I've bought 2 lots of the panama La Esmerelda and have been very happy with it. I had to blend a little this week as I only had 100grams left so its gone in with the last 200grams of Rwandan COE that I had from BG. Fairly damn tasty!!
