After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
Chester, lovely set up. I dont want it to rain on your parade, so my suggestion would be to insulate under the roofing iron. On winter mornings you are likley to get internal "rain" from condensation forming under the roof and dripping down ad infinitum. OR.....perhaps its not an issue in your area. It is here ! I see you've been to bunnings to buy one of their "garage racks". They're fantastic (and that said, I bought mine elsewhere...still great). Attilio
Thanks Attilio Haven,t seen much condensation here yet, lowest winter temps only 4 so pretty warm by a Canbarians standard. But now that I have built in the verandah I will keep an eye on it. Could have bought a shelf online a little cheaper than Bunnings but the cost of shipping killed that idea. Thanks again Chester
On gumtree as well with a sad story of to loud to be in a home garage in a residential area. Hmmmm sounds familiar to some recent posts and advice I have read here, I wonder. Anyway the silver streak had a little issue, Mark from Coffee Roasters Aus came up spent a few hours tweaking this and that, sharing some roasting and blending advice, and enjoyed a couple of my yemen roasts (or was he just being polite) Amazing service, all when they are in the middle of relocating to a bigger premises, awesome! Humming along now and actually roasted my first really successful blend, 1 out of 6 is ok i figure in the learning new skills time. Chester
Back from South America, dusted off the silver streak last week and back into the learning. Head must have still bean on holidays did up a blend of a few beans, weighed them all out, dropped them in, then couldn't work out why it was taking the silver streak so long to ramp up to temp. Doh  do the maths, managed to drop 6kg into my 5kg machine. Explained a lot of my concerns very quickly. :pan Won't do that again, surprisingly though came out not to bad, called the blend super six but told my family and friends it was a one of and not to expect it again.
