Katzeye is the screen I used Brett, installed it myself without major drama. It works well on the D200, though not as good as the split prism on the older Nikons I have. I tend to manual focus most of the time, a habit I got into during my years as a rodeo photographer.

Of course, not sharp here :head: does anyone have a 500PX account? What's the best photo hosting site for clarity of pictures? I have photo bucket and Flickr both of which I loose fidelity unless the pictures are viewed on that site alone!

Not Nikon related but i thought id show off some cinematic lenses. Muahahahhaha One is a zeiss prime the other is a Schneider cine-xenar iii. Lens porn! Do you think this forum would be able to handle an upload of some shots with these?

Great shots! Wide open at your lens is 11mm yep? 1.5x for the form-factor (16.5)... am I right in thinking the F2.8 becomes F3.2?? If this is the case ( clearly you're shooting at a smaller aperture for these) your sensor is brilliant... This is not easy light!

yep. At 16.5mm equivalent. Some images in the building were cropped as I was too wide. Lol. I mixed the apertures. Some at 2.8-5.6 inside and f8 outside. Lighting was terrible outside (midday sun). I shoot in raw so I have heaps of dynamic range (14.6Evs) to play around with in my darkroom, sorry Lightroom. Apsc vs ff 35mm - A stop of light difference - Bump the ISO in lower light situations. The sensor is pretty good at high ISO. Most of the pics inside the building were at f2.8-5.6 and autoISO ranged from 250 to 2500. I just let the camera do the ISO work. A bit of noise reduction in Lightroom does the trick for higher isos. Outside I shot at f8 except for the last pic of the blue babybird. That was as f5.6. ISO was of course at 100. I'm really loving this Tokina lens. I need to get out more and get close, real close and shoot. In your face - literally. All pics were matrix metered. And cheers for the compliments. I didn't really have time to compose my shots as I wanted them to so I fluked most of them.

great reach KK (at 250mm that's 400mm full frame equivalent -1.6x crop). Awesome for wildlife photography. What's the image quality like at the max zoom range?

Can't comment on 4 photos I have taken However I like to take closeup photos of varied subjects as the longer telephoto lens gives me just the bokeh I like I have also observed that this new lens has a faint mechanical noise of the auto focus motor and it's peeing me off I have asked for a replacement / swap with another new unit so I'm not using it until I get an answer KK

Even Nikons SWM lenses that are 'silent' aren't! I played with the very fine Tamron 28-70F2.8 at Christmas but settled on the 24-120F4 because for video it's quieter. Nonetheless Video on a DSLR depicted being awesomely smooth and exceptionally contrasted (less so with Canon and Sony :P) is still a manual focus prospect.

I agree Brett. I've tried a number of silent focus lenses and you can still hear them but but a bit less with an external mic. Manual focus is the only silent solution at present I think for dslr video. KK there is a video here showing some noise with an stm lens vs non stm. Is yours similar

Yep... I have an external mic with a dampened housing but don't use it. I rarely shoot video anyhow.

On that video mine would be the second unit He was testing noise on video mode However my other lenses are silent and not all Canon lenses are auto focus on video mode If one was to get a stethoscope one would hear a smooth whirrrrr sound On my new lens I can hear a faint audible dull clicking sound in photo mode Put ones ear on the camera body and then you can pinpoint that's the motor working when auto focusing KK
