After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

fitting out a coffee van!

anyone got experience fitting out a coffee van ?

a client of mine has got approval to do coffee at Woodford folk festival and is getting a van fitted out to cope with demand !

they're a little new to the coffee game and I'm helping them out - I have my own ideas but what do others think ?

    If you look back over the years Attilio's son fitted out and ran a van. I'd be giving him a call at Cosmorex/CRA. Having looked a a few and even considered one in my youth the big issue is the power and cold storage.  Pictures, pictures, pictures!

    yep those are pretty much my two main concerns in a nutshell - before i moved up from melbourne I was among other things running coffee stalls at promotions and events etc and we had some type of device that plugged into the power supply that ensured a continuous source of power to the machine - ill have to get hold of the guys and find out what that device was unless anyone else knows? p

    And... the good oil on generators is that you buy the very best you can afford and one with a name you recognise like Honda.  Every dollar you save on a generator now will bite you in the arse when you can least afford it!

    true that and in response to the previous post are we talking about using a generator to power the coffee machine or as a backup power supply ?

    Where you can, use their power. Most 'market' machines have a leg wired out of the boiler element so they're 10amp.  Also, get a 3-phase to single-phase converter to keep in the van just in case. They're cheap and so very useful when you turn up to a council location. I did lots of research and recon on this years ago.

    sounds like good advice the last thing you want is to run out of grunt when the demand is on! P
