After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Crema//Cafe Scene

Hi Guys - shortly you should notice a change of the 'look' of the Crema Magazine site, which reflects a larger underlying change - ie that we've now split crema into two sites:
cremamagazine.com.au for consumers/general readers and cafescene.com.au for those in the industry.

As always, we're very interested in your feedback - please let us know what you think of our two sites and in particular, if you think there's anything we should add or change.

    Hey Admin, One quick note - are you planning on releasing more of the archived stories from back issues of the mag onto the website? One good example would be the second part to your espresso machine review (I think it was for machines over $1,000), considering there have been an increasing number of forum threads where people have asked for advice as to buying a home machine. cheers Patrick

    Hi guys - was just in my local newsagency this afternoon, and I'm proud to report that Crema was (almost) the only magazine within 200 metres not to have a picture of (Princess) Mary on the front cover... Ciao -A  :)

    Actually, have to admit a slightly personal pique at all the attention Mary is getting...used to work in the same company as her (actually, the next door office), and I have to admit to being a little miffed when she turned me down for an invite to dinner... -A :'(

    Hi guys - every now and then, as Admin, I have to do a little housekeeping...a current example of the sort of occasion where this is required is where a topic is pretty much repeated under one thread, when it's already existing under another, as has happened with Barista Competitions under the Have your say thread. It just so happens that we had a topic under the identical name in tbe Trade page thread, which is where i've now moved it, along with the associated comments - ie if you're looking for this, please see 'Barista Competitions' under Trade page.     Just thought some of you might like to know that the name of the little twerp who posted a couple of the 'flames' on the site recently is Lorenzo Lamas. How do we know this? Because he has recently registered on the site with several alias names such as: [email protected] and [email protected] - clearly stupid, as well as a bit of a weasel. It might be fun to find out where he works; it would be interesting to know if his coffee is really as good as he seems to think! -A

    I see, I see. So going on the last TV series I can remember lorenzo lamas starring in (a good 10 years ago perhaps), this means our little finoch (his words) is a long haired harley riding outlaw type, on the run. What would he know about coffee (other than that gastly american flavoured instant stuff you can buy in any gasssss station over there in milk shake sized containers)? Perhaps engine oil would be more his thaing. Does this mean we should contact the real lorenzo lamas. He might wish to sue the wannabe for attempting to sully his bad name in this forum. G.

    Seriously Admin, this blokes posts were PERSONALLY ABUSIVE, going way beyond humour & comraderie, which is the kind of thing you get on forums AFTER you've been contributiong for a while and have earned the respect of others. Do we really care where the finoch (again, his word) works? G.
