After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Uh-Oh.. It's happening...

I honestly never thought it would happen to me.... my partner knew otherwise I think...

I'm turning into a coffee collector....of appropriate cups.

New to my collection in the last two weeks:

*4 wide rimmed 225ml latte glasses
* 4 glass cappucino cups with metal handles...

To go with the:
*4 slightly larger than an espresso, not quite a cappucino cups and saucers
* 2 espresso cups and saucers
* 8 cups and saucers (very pretty...)
*3 tall latte glasses with metal handles
*An assortment of mugs

Oh dear. It's terrible.

I've just painted the espresso cups and saucers, and the slightly larger than cups a beautiful amethyst colour..

What's next?

Who else has a similar vein of addiction?

    Well, my illy cup collection was growing nicely, although it has stalled of late thanks to the hole put in my wallet by the new bits of chrome in my kitchen... ;D P

    I don't have that addiction, but I can understand it because most of the receptacles I own are either a touch too small or just too big, or maybe too wide, and generally not quite right. Gary - who still looks out for suitable cups, but can't find them.

    LOL :) I even had to buy a new shelf for my kitchen, so all the cups would fit, then I could move the knife block, and shift the canisters to make room for the Fenice. :) Cheers, Amy

    I share Reschsmooth's (my brother's) Illy cup affliction - I know have 26 of them with another 6 on the way!!! I'm just waiting for my brother to get me the Silver cup!!

    amy, it only gets worse. soon you'll move on from cups (well, I still have a thorough look at the cups in myers from time to time) and you'll spend hours wandering through shopping centres and hardware stores looking for grinder brushes, you'll spend endless late nights surfing the net for handmade custom tamps, better steam tips, better rags to wipe the steam arm down, it just keeps going!

    I'm not sure of the full story - but Mark Prince of coffeegeek has one of the biggest collections in the world, I think. From memory, the story behind them is somewhere on his personal website, www.coffeekid.com

    i dunno, i get that there collectors items and all. but personally i prefer a plain white thick edged espresso cup or just plain ol stainless for flat white. not to mention the price tag is a little outrageous imo. i guess it's all about personal taste. :)

    I guess this type of "affiction" could be likened to some individuals fetish for shoes  ;D There are just some great cups out there, more and more beautiful ones being released all the time. I might get around to updating my website shortly and there will be a little section on....cups...we might be able to convert you Remus, and I've some really nice ones coming in. Regardz, FC.
