After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

What's mine is yours

This story with it's sadly predictable ending is my inspiration: http://www.news.com.au/technology/of-coffee-karma-and-jonathans-starbucks-card/story-e6frfro0-1226116844509

Plus I have some crap to get rid of..... Just kidding...  ;D

  • LMAO AM, you've just made my day, huge migraine yesterday and living with the tail end of the drugs today.
  • Could we think of a title unique to Crema rather than just copy other forums? How about:  What's mine is yours?

Thanks for the suggestion and thanks to whomever changed the title!
  • Thank you AM I'll let him know :) I think we all got a great pay it forward from Jeff.  I've just sifted through 1kg of the Harrar and pulled out a few bits of what looked like bamboo and string and about 40 suspect looking beans and that's about it. I tell you it makes me appreciate what the workers go through when they are sifting through 100s of kilograms of beans!
  • Yah AM it arrived and I love it, I do love wood though! I was even able to install it myself. I'll take photos shortly ;D
  • So this is where we put up our stuff we want to get rid of....?   ;) ;) I have to start clearing out all my 'surplus to requirements' stuff before an upcoming house move. On offer is a brand new, unused extra large glass bowl, base and stainless surround from a Tiffany Turbo Oven. Free to good home, actually free to a bad home too  ;D Pick up in Adelaide or if you really want it, convince me to post it... Also got a couple of TO timers, and a simmerstat if anyone feels a need to own these. And also a LG 32" Flatron TV, working fine.  Model RT-32FZ11RX.    The picture on it is surprisingly good.   Very heavy - would make a good boat anchor.  Sorry I won't be posting this one. Here's one on ebay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LG-Widescreen-Television-RT-32FZ11RX-VGC-/160591353815 All to go in the rubbish in about a week if nobody wants them. cheers.
  • 3 lots of two Duralex 90ml glasses to good homes if anybody wants them. I came by a few gratis, so feel like sharing the love.

I'd like two, but suspect you are in QLD and it wouldn't be worth shipping them to Melb.

I'll look into what it's worth and am happy to cover half the postage for you. Others have shown me similar generosity over the last three years in my coffee journey.
  • I think my 200ml duralex latte glasses were $1.50 each in south melb market, which was why I don't think shipping is cost effective.
  • Left over from my mercifully brief time with the Sunbeam 3800 I have a Krups single wall filter basket to give to a good home. It should fit just about any low end sunbeam, Breville or (one assumes) Krups machine. Happy to send on free to whoever is in desperate need.
  • Kelsey, if you still have it I might let my neighbour loose with it.  He's still using he double wall on him breville 800.
  • No problems - how about we meet up for a brew or a roast or something in the next couple of days and I'll give it to you then?
  • Sounds good.  It's been a while since I last roasted! :) Let me know when you got some spare time.
  • Do days or evenings suit you better?
  • I've got an Compak K6 doser spring for the old style K6 (a straight spring, hooks at either end) it's brand new, but I installed the new style K6 spring before I sold it.  Free to a good home, happy to post it anywhere in Australia for free. :)
  • CABLES CABLES CALBLES Box of mainly used but some new USB, IDE, Molex, RJ11, Connectors and even an old SATA HDD and some cards.  Free to a local Brisbanite who wants to come out Jindalee way.  These are destined for the bin but for a tinkerer or computer enthusiast they may just save you $10-$15 every so often.  First to reply here or I'll find the local recyclers.
  • Just did an AV upgrade as mentioned on another thread and I have the following free to a good home... Marantz gold series component stereo - build date is when Marantz was owned by Superscope (this matters from what I am told). Items - PM410 amplifier ST300 tuner SD1010 cassette deck (whoa!!) EQ20 20 band graphic equalizer (double whoa!!) Xbox assorted power leads and wiring to jig it all together. Basically all you need is a cheapo dvd player to play cd's and a pair of speakers and Bob is your ex prime minister... May suit a garage, back room, idunno, maybe someone can find a use for it. This system was bought in December 1980  ;D and I have had the amp serviced (for faults) twice in that time. Problems... 1. Cassette deck winds really slowly so needs looking at. 2. Amp has been crackly out of one channel recently though intermittently. Currently behaving itself. Could be dust, dry joint, unsure. Figure it would suit the tinkerer tyrpe of person I have met on here  :D I'm throwing a similar post on my facebook and if no bites in say 2 weeks it will be hoiked. Hopefully to Vinnies but I don't think they want electrical these days due to stoopid legislation etc etc etc. Location is Sydney north west. Picture not attached, forum won't let me do it. I will try and post below. Rider ps. No, I don't have the original packaging    pps. It may include speakers if I go and test drive those Wharfedales I was eyeing off........ ;D  ;D  ;D
  • Picture won't load - PM me and I'll email it to ya if you are interested. Rider
  • Gees, shame to see this classic hi-fi gear consigned to obscurity.  I've seen and heard this at Rider's and it pumps out great sound. My own hifi equipment is of a similar vintage and don't have the room for it unfortunately. Makes me wish I had a garage to give it a home. Here's the amp: http://en.audiofanzine.com/hifi-amplifier/marantz/PM-410
  • Thanks Steve, yes that is the one, though that one is not mine - too many smudge marks and..... Why would you have the dial 1/4 way from source toward mic?   ::)  ???

These have found a new shed to dwell in.
  • Marantz system has gone friends...

I'm not surprised!  A very generous 'what's mine is yours,' that will keep on giving or many years!  :thumb:
  • Yeah, hope so Brett, Has gone to a good friend and hopefully he can find a use for it. I don't have the space or need for a second system so it would just gather dust  ;D Kinda weird letting it go but I've had 31 great years out of it and obviously it owes me nothing. Spread the joy I say  ;) Having said that, if I find out it's a collectible - spewing  :pan Rider ps - new system rocks - and kicks arse  :D  :D  :D
