Tapatalk is still great for phones because the screen is small but on an iPad, it's vewing screen is like a small computer so direct uploads to forums should have been mandatory fom the start Anyway I am glad that its been implemented making an already great product to a fantastic one

And if it keeps improving, one day you may boot up after an upgrade and notice the android logo. That is not necessarily meant facetiously (well maybe just a bit). The two product lines both run Unix derivative operating systems. One of the main things preventing each product including the best features of the other is my old bugbear 'intellectual property', which often stifles innovation.

I just bought a bluetooth keyboard $58 from BigW for eldest at school.  It's a Belkin YourType Keyboard + Stand for all the iPads, and even with the case on!!  I was pretty impressed with it, okay to type on, easy to sync, and the onscreen keyboard disappears when you turn it on! I also bought both of them a Gecko Stylus which they can use for writing, drawing etc and it feels more like using a real pencil/marker.  :thumb:

Another update as I keep finding so much more stuff Using the iPad has just got a lot easier Previously I posted that photos can be uploaded direct from IPad stored photos or camera roll to a post on a forum If one wants to link a photo then this is not available like a PC  but one can save any web photo to the camera roll in a millisecond and follow the upload procedure ( its actually quicker than select - copy - post ) Second great find but it applies to Smart TVs If you have the YouTube app and watching a video and want it on the Big Screen All one needs to do is (1) press a button with an arrow (2) choose the TV from a list (3) Watch your selection on TV More info - re YouTube link - It works without issues on my LG smart. Hi guys - not quite sure where to post this [you'll see why in a sec.] so may post in a couple of places... 1. we have long been concerned that because the Crema magazine print run is so small, many people can't get it at their local newsagent [although most newsagents can order it into stock from Gordon & Gotch if they're asked to]. Obviously, now that more and more people are now using I-Pads for reading we've been looking into an electronic version, and it turns out Gordon & Gotch have a system for turning print magazines into electronic mags, available for subscription online. We're in the process of getting this set up for our upcoming [Spring] issue, but the one thing I'd like to do [as a bit of an 'added-value'] is to offer it at a reduced price for forum members - say $3.00 per issue instead of the official $5.50.... we're currently investigating if the G&G system will allow us to have multiple purchase costs [eg a cheaper price for a small private 'guest list]', so will keep you updated. 2. the other thing is I'd like to tap into the online aggregating reader services like Flipboard and Zite. These seem to work off the number of twitter mentions, so what I'm planning to do is put up a preview of our upcoming 'Cafes of Paris' feature on the main Crema home page [might call it 'Paris Cafes Blog' or something like that]. Then, as a test, I'd like to ask as many of you as possible who have twitter accounts to re-tweet it, to see if the Zite / Flipboard algorithms pick up on it. Anyway, just a heads-up at this stage; will also repost this under 'Crema Magazine' & will keep you up-to-date with progress... cheers A

iOS 7 update was made available today for IPad devices A quick heads up to smooth out your experience of the new OS First it's a swipe system It has some very cool new features as well Photo viewing has changed to include date line and shrink view Camera - to change from photo to video - you need to swipe up or down as needed to select Camera also has multiple photo shots - just hold down the shutter button To close programs / apps in the background to preserve battery life - double click "Home Button" and swipe up to remove However if you just want to change from one application or app to another. Just double click " Home Button" click and press on the one you want by scrolling to your selection I am very impressed with voice typing - it's very smooth and accurate While on Crema forum  chat ( Only tested on Safari ) the keyboard has a bar above with these arrows  "<>" Press the left one and it takes you to the forums search bar Press the one on the right and it returns you to your previous activity While on a post reply screen the arrows take you to the subject line Will update more as I get around the system KK

Update After approx 1.5 hours of in my hands time of the iPad Time saving features Double click the home button and all open apps are shown in a large display If you have lots scroll and they all move in caterpillar fashion Choose the app and press or tap on it - The app expands and occupies the whole screen Attachment not found.Attachment not found.

iOS 7 feels a lot more like the regular Mountainlion on the Macbook. Can the experts confirm that that is the direction, and what other similarities... J

On iOS 7 for iPad I use the SEARCH feature a lot It was a little tricky to find the easiest way to activate it Then when I found the knack - it was so so easy Previously one had to go to the first screen and to the left Now all one needs to do is touch the screen anywhere even over an app button and flick your finger approx 10mm down and the SEARCH section is activated Attachment not found.

Yes, still finding my way round too... After using spotlight to search for 'adjust brightness' (= fail) and then wading through the settings to adjust my screen... Lo and behold... On any home screen just swipe up from the bottom bar and hey presto... It's a settings dashboard that has quite a few of the most frequently used settings... Nice... Swipe down from the top bar and you get an updated summary screen that in improvement on the old Notifications screen... Neat... Still doesn't make coffee though.... : pan

Found a news article about hidden features in iOS 7 So I present them here SO iOS 7 has had it's problems. But it also has some very nifty hidden features. We've gone hunting for them so you don't have to. Check out the list below. 1. Turn your flashlight into a notifier If beeps and buzzes aren't your thing you can turn your phone's flashlight into a notification system, making it flash on and off when you get an alert. It's not subtle but hey, whatever works for you. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > scroll down and tap "LED Flash for Alerts". 2. Undelete your emails with a shake So you accidentally deleted an email. Don't panic. Just shake your iPhone to bring up the option to undo it. 3. The clock actually moves If you take a closer look at your phone you'll find the Clock app moves. It has a red hand that counts the seconds and the first and second hands point to the hour and minutes. Classy touch, Apple. 4. Control your device with your head This is a great feature for people with physical disabilities. The front facing camera detects the movements of your head. Ironically you have to enable it first in Settings. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > set Switch Control to on > add "Switches" like "Left Head Movement - Home Button to decide what physical movements you want to control your phone. 5. Siri gets proactive If you're too busy to type you can use Siri to do things like opening Settings (by saying "Open Settings") or make a call (by saying "make a call") etc. You can also put her in charge of wi-fi and play voicemails and much more. But you'll need to switch Siri on first. Otherwise you're just talking to yourself. 6. Close multiple apps at a time Forget deleting apps individually, now you can shut down three apps at a time. Simply click the Home button to reveal your carousel of open apps > close three apps at a time by using three fingers and dragging the apps upwards. KK
