Was that I saw pulling out of Belmonds car park this morning? most likely. I have been too busy to roast, just gulp and go! Looking good. When can I come around for an inspection with my Building Surveying hat on?

weekend are OK. The upper floor slab cures for 7 days, then they can strip the form-work and just back prop a few props every 2M for the rest of the 21 day curing process, we will space the props so we can pull cars in under. looking forward to having the forms striped to see the off-form ceilings finish, I was very careful to go all around with an old speaker magnet on a stick to pick up all bits of tie wire that could rust the ceiling.

Now, now... It's more like those creter's.... stomp, stomp, stomp.... Squish go the bar chairs... Squish, squish, squish.... What's this bit of steel popping up? The cage must be all outta level... Just order an extra 4.6 cubes and cover it all up.... Blame the steelfixers, too easy... I steelfixed swimming pools for quite a few years... that's bending 9m y12 bars into a 300mm square grid on any shape pool/spa you like... True, some (by others) are like trampolines, but when you're installing automatic pop- up cleaning systems, well, all has to be... Just so... I just jumped on in.... Funny thing.... When the guy who signs the cheque is on the job... The excuses stop flowing....

I have noticed quite a attitude change when it's your jobsite. Set a quality precedence a be a decent boss and it's all good, generally. A slab after a pour ( pardon the pun) doesn't hurt either

I give the trades respect and they give it back, simple as that, being a builder I learned long ago how to bring out the best from them. beers on Friday is always good too. speaking of pools, it is designed for a 20M lap pool, but can't afford it yet.

A 20m lap pool... Mate you're livin' the dream. As for tradies, any time (not terribly often despite the huge renos on my house) I found that if you dig the trench for em, lift the heavy stuff and greet them with a great cuppa then their work and generosity with info, tips and short cuts really shines. These guys are some of the most honest, hard-working and magnificent bastards in the aussie workforce!!

+1 for the roof deck. One thing I remember saying about your design is that your have no deck out the front to soak up that view (you do have 2 side decks and lots of windows I know). A small deck on the roof would be lovely on a nice day to sip your coffee.

Not sure about the council planning though?

Just back from a few days in melb/Adl. Picked up a few coffee necessities such as a tube of food grade grease and some rubber edging for the sharp edges on the kony group handle bracket. Also got a 1000kg heavy duty jockey wheel for the camper/bike trailer. I've broken two of the flimsy ones so far, and the old skinny wheel was always burying itself in the sand.

So True, I have organized to get a deal on 4 Pallets of "Supacote" render direct from the owner of the business as I have over 400m2 I am also looking into their Floor cote for the concrete floors, we don't like tiles and want a seamless look. same with the showers, hate grout joins. I have 2 good ol boys that I will pay on an hourly hate and another that just comes and does all the angles.

Which one ? The facade one on the right of the driveway is clearly not but appears deliberate. The one above the garage on the left appears to be leaning to the right at the top but could just be an optical illusion.
