After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
pod machines? pod plague ? pod haters ?
Dear coffee lovers,
my partners and i just returned from a work trip.
We returned from france, and as everybody knows a land of coffee.- amongst other things.
I was surprised how much people were embracing pod machines. very big.
Stores devoted to selling the pods, ie pack of 24 savory pods. machines as well. a few main brands mainly though pushing them hard.
they had displays in every department store as well.
the hx machines almost non existant and i travelled everywhere in france for last 3 months.
i understand people go to any cafe for coffee so home machines not the same deal i guess but as i say was surprissed how big pods were.
i tasted a few but flavoured coffee seems a gimmock and they were expensive like here and not as fresh.
my friend has a pod machine here at work and its great in looks and average in coffee.
opinions from the pros out there appreciated.
do pod machines sell well or do they have a better profit margin. ?????????????
i hope they fail too be honost as they seem inferior and hope cafes dont adopt them one day.
went to italy and spain and thank goodness no sign of them.
will the pod plague spread.
ps the euro and life in europe is expensive.
But expresso machines on the whole were pretty well priced. about a quarter off price it seemed....coffee in spain ,beans etc were very cheap.
cheers livid
