After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Photos from anywhere and everywhere.

  • I just realised my favourite photos aren't showing on flickr due to a restriction of only showing the last 200 pics unless you have a paid account, so here is my favourite set:
  • Lovely photos of Flora in Japan RM  :thumb: In fact they are beautiful KK
  • These photos have been taken on an IPhone over a period of time on the same location on the same billboard Attachment not found.Attachment not found.Attachment not found.Attachment not found.
  • Having not spent anything on myself for such a long time, I finally bought my darling wife (The Little One) a new car and thought she deserved some rego plates that would suit the new wheels.
  • Some recent holiday pics.  Anyone guess the location?

Have a feeling I've been there, or passed through there once or twice  (the courtyard, clocktower and those fruit trees seem familiar, as does the insanely twisty road leading up to the place on the hill) but as it was 25 years ago, too much alcohol since has dulled the memory cells. Reminds me of sections of the Amalfi Coast, but not quite steep enough in some sections.
  • Pretty close Mycuppa!  It's s bit further South in the same country - a little town called Taormina in Sicily. I was quite surprised with how drinkable the coffee was, and pizza was nice too. We came home with a bag full of biscotti, almond wine, meats and parmigiana...  It's a very nice place for a holiday, but unfortunately the euro makes it too damn expensive.  At least the coffee prices were reasonable. Around one euro for an espresso ( unless you're in a restaurant).  Here's some pics (not mine) of a place that claims it makes the best granita in the whole of Italy. All hand made on-site with fresh fruit.  My five year old (a professional ice cream critic) seemed to think they were pretty good!
  • Hmmm, what to do with old bony leftover hardwood ( apart from burn it). Make a letter box feature of course  :D
  • That's just brilliant. Hey... 19846 Logan road have just called... Can they have one too...  Seriously, very classy
  • :D Brett. I've had 2 enquiries already !

Looks nice. To critique it from a photography point of view and make the point that a lower aperture would be better is kind of pointless due to it being taken from a frickin Ipad. Nice reflections  :thumb:
  • Looks awesome KK. I knew we left that palm there for a reason  :D

Good for something other that looks and shade KK
  • Getting too overexposed and washed out now. The first one has pretty good balance of light & shade and much better contrast of the palm shadows. Bloody ipads

I doubt you've got enough detail in that pic to be certain, but I'd go with  Stephen's Banded Snake http://www.avru.org/general/general_stephens.html (look at the pic on the right - -http://www.avru.org/files/imported/compendium/gallery/A000038g.jpg )
Looks like a rough scale snake to me
  • Has been confirmed as a tiger snake
  • I SO wish I had a photo, but alas...... My Behmor caught on fire this evening.......  :o  :-[ ::)  :'(

Here's one to keep it on topic  ;) ED94EDE4-D14A-4156-95C3-106EA79654D2-9945-0000066AC6A0E649.jpg Gees mate - hard news. I hope there was no other damage to you or your house. I also hope it wasn't a treasured bean . I hardly use the Behmor you sold me. Not that there's anything wrong with, just that the KKTO gives me better results and bigger batch sizes. If you want, you can buy it back from me (at a reduced price, of course)
  • I had a chaff fire in mine a while back.  The roaster survived.  I hope you have the same luck mate!
  • No such luck, but my own fault..... Hadn't used it for quite some time and has been sitting on the bottom of my roasting trolley, obviously collecting coffee dust...... Gave it a cursory clean and fired it up.... literally!! At second crack, smoke galore, error message, opened the door and ....... WOOF!!!!!! Ahh well, Natalie and I thought it was pretty humourous eventually... Should have seen the beans..... or should I say cinders....
  • :'( The Starbucks treatment is never a welcome occurrence.  We're all sorry for your loss.  Now lets talk replacements... CCR1kg? 5kg HG? 15kg Giesen? Every coffee cloud has a silver lining!
