Have you tried turning it off and turning it on? Double click the home button and when the list of running apps comes up across the bottom scroll to find Skype the press and hold the icon. The icon will vibrate and a red circle will appear on the icon. Press the circle to shut down the app and then click your home key. Restart Skype the usual way. I've not had these issues with Skype but then again I choose the dark grey cover so it may be more comaptible... :stir

I did what you just suggested close and restart the Skype APP :thumb: and will find out if it works on our next conversation I did not realise that they (the Apps) run in the background so I switched off about 30 On a side note and picking up on the same theme I did some sample photos on the already installed photo booth App This app distorts images and also in psychedelic - so I am putting 2 + 2 = 5 here as it may have had an effect So along with all the other Apps this has been closed I will also power off & restart the Ipad for good measure 8) KK

I suggest doing a reset. Hold the home and 'power' button at the same time, the normal swipe to turn off will appear. Keep holding until it switches off and you will then get a apple logo - Keep Holding. The apple logo will then disappear and it will be off. Switch back on. Normal for it to take longer to power up. This doesn't reset settings, but makes it reboot the OS properly.

Yep that's what I did I powered off completely and rebooted The little white apple logo is cute - Perhaps they should have made it green

We're probably just crossing wires but powering off then reboot and doing a reset are actually a little different in the iOS devices.

Well just post the correct procedure and I will do it Having said that Skype video as described above is still not working for the receiver Its quite possible that its Skype software not yet compatible or perfected for the new Ipad camera KK

Not the same problem Video works but the person in the US is getting poor video while I get very good video I have the latest Skype App / updated it when it was offered a few days ago KK

What are you using to connect to the internet? ADSL, Cable, 3G? Take a look at your upload speeds, they can be a factor. My RIM was congested for over a year, and pictures always froze and connections got dropped. Since Jan12 the backhaul got fixed and Skype has been flawless since. I can't wait to try it when I get ADSL2+ soon via a tophat because that will increase upload speed even more.

Hi guys sounds like the iPad 3 is great; from collective knowledge base, can you let me know if you would go for the iPad two which was also great, and is apparently still a current model, or pay the extra for a sharper screen and get the iPad 3? Haven't been able to see the two side-by-side, but would appreciate comments from anyone who has used both. Thanks dR

This my first tablet PC purchase When placed side by side the differences are the Ipad 3 has - Extremely sharp pictures ect Very fast Load of Apps ( I would say instant) KK

Ipad3 personally, they aren't much more, the screen is better, and the camera. The iPad2 camera is average at best. Some apps/games are already using the extra processing power of the iPad3. As iOS gets updated you'll find the iPad2 will get left behind. Apple did the same with the 3GS where some features can't be installed on it. KK, do a speedtest at www.speedtest.net and post up the results. Any youngsters in your family download torrents???

Followed a couple of minutes later with second test / after Skype session finished

Update As we are talking now on Skype to Los Angeles USA This is after the restart performed last night (re Hatchys method) Video is working good now (touch wood) However in past occasions it would be good at the beginning and degrade with time

We have a 2 and a 3 at home and there isn't much between the two to be honest. Yeah the cameras are great but still not in the league of my D200. I'd still go for a three to cope with the os upgrades for longer or be prepared to turn em over earlier.

KK - Looked at your speedtest. A bit jealous as I just downloaded the app to my phone and tested. At home/wi-fi: 1425kbps down, 433kbps up, 59ms ping. On 3G: 771kbps down, 592kbps up, 145ms ping. Home PC on wired LAN: 1.36Mbps down, 0.38Mbps up, 33ms ping

TO be honest, I can't tell the difference between them even when side by side unless there's an optimized app or page. My wife however tells me that mine is much clearer??

I'm still out on the iPad3. Especially with the 4G issues. Hoping they may do something about that soon, or at least by the time I get one for myself in July/August. I may just get myself one anyway lol

The Ipad is 4G And will also work on any current Australian system Its up to your carrier to offer 4G KK

I just ordered an iPad3 as a replacement for the 2 the kids dropped! Only wifi model. Also the iPad3's 3G speeds are faster than 4G in the US in some places. It's been reported as being a lot faster than the iPad2.

Yep. 4G is just another marketing term - its meaning is variable and on par with 15 bar pumps. "They have 15 bar? we'll make ours 20!" Can't wait till my 75bar machine arrives in 2015. 30ml in 30 microseconds!! Just need the cups with the reinforced bases...

Sorry, you're right of course. It's that fudge factor I'm speaking to - 4G, like 3G before it - is presented as a definitive expectation of speed improvement as opposed to something influenced by the capabilities or whims of a carrier.

Yes, I should have said i accepted your point. Device makers will try to add numbers to their products to give them a gee-whizz factor that is not always delivered on or doesn't give a true indication of performance. Having a 4G device doesn't necessarily mean you are receiving data faster than a 3G device.
