After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
First roast and coffee's in the new roaster tonight. ;D Couple more pix, still a few tweaks and build a bench on the back wall for the grinders, cold drip and pour overs. [attachimg=1] First roast session. [attachimg=2] Looking to roaster [attachimg=3] Looking back Chester
WOW! WOW! WOW! Colour coded stools as well. 8) That's going to be one (green with) envious set up Chester. Somehow I don't think you will be short of visitors when word gets out. :D
Any time for you KK. Still running with Pulped Naturally Coffee Roasters Jan L, still not sure but that's what a few people already know so just going with it. Thanks Brett H, hope you will be visiting when I have the open weekend. Chester

Chester Now that's a man cave ! Everything about it is great - the gear is top notch and the fitout is simple clean and inviting Just purrrfect as catwoman would say
Found some medium weight industrial shelving at Bunnings that fits perfectly across the back wall for the grinders and everything else. So close to all done now, find a nice skinny couch and a few more bits and pieces, then pave outside. Need to start getting members thinking of what would be a good weekend in the not too distant future for a visit and play. [attachimg=1] [attachimg=2] C.
Haven't said much about the roastery of late, but very very happy with what we have created. We have been busy though working towards the next step of the plan and developing the business side of things. Learning all about websites and importance of names in relation to search engine optimisation and lots of IT geeky stuff, definitely not my thing but necessary skills to learn. Web site is nearly finished and our trip to MICE next week will complete some of the other stuff in relation to suppliers of bags, labelling and all those consumables used in a Micro Roastery :thumb:. As far as naming the business, using all we have learned about key words, content etc we finally made a decision, designed the logo and did all the other stuff one has to do with registering names etc. Names are always a very subjective topic and plenty of hot debate happened between family and friends, at the end of the day I think it has come out pretty good and will work ok. A big thanks to those that offered constructive feedback and ideas. When we get back from Melbourne it will be time to host a members meet up, so some ideas of when a good time for people would be and an idea of what you would like out of a visit. Some ideas I have had Open weekend to make it easier for people to fit in to their busy lives, rather than set time on set day (or does this take away from the social aspect of meeting other members) Bring your own roasted coffee along and maybe your grinder to run through the Slayer I have some special Geshia ($$$$) saved that I could roast up for people to try through V60 and Kalita Wave (you'd probably hate that idea) Roasting demos on the SilverStreak - Bring some greens along and roast them on the SilverStreak (I can just guide you, Minimum batch size 1kg but 2kg is better) Brisvegas members could do a car pool Put your thinking caps on and lets see what we come up with. Oh and here's the name/logo (no dissing required) Chester

I have been following your posts on Project Cosmic from Melbourne but it now seems that I will need to organise a trip North to coincide with the Open weekend. Very impressive set up and no doubt it will be a great success given the care and effort that has gone into it. Hope to catch up at MICE
Thanks Beanz, absolutely will catch up next week during MICE. Being in Melbourne for 6 days gives us plenty of time and we are keen to go out and see Ken at the Oak Room, probably the Monday or Tuesday after MICE for a coffee and breakfast. So far we are doing Reverance on Friday as you know, Saturday try to find somewhere close to the city and meet up with Kevohere, Sunday breakfast at Proud Marys then continue around the corner to Aunty Pegs to check that out. Again Monday or Tuesday to the Oak Room, any of that suit you? let us know. Chester
Interesting name, I get the feeling this could get you hits from both ends of the spectrum. That is a great offer for all you Qld boys and girls to get to play with all the big toys!
Saturday close to the city maybe consider Seven Seeds, Auction Rooms or League of Honest Coffee. The 1st two have food but I cannot recall what League of HC has available, I think it has a limited range ? Another one close to the city I have heard good reports on is Queensberry Pour House but I have not tried it yet. Monday at Oak Room sounds good
Cool Beanz Monday at the Oak Room for breakfast it is then, so if any one else want to come along. What time are you thinking Beanz, will have to work in with trains from the city. Better tell Ken he needs to break out the best coffee he has the Queenslanders are coming. Chester
Ken always has something special on the go but he makes a point of it for his MICE visitors. I can fit in with your movements but probably best to be a little behind the peak hour rush maybe 9.30 but can fit in with your schedule as required
